Control & Software Systems
Hänel’s automated storage units are designed to interface directly with the customer’s ERP software thanks to the smart control systems and a flexible architecture.
The control systems established at Hänel storages are models MP 14 N and MP 12 N.
MP 14 N Controller
The 12-inch high-resolution touch display ensures an easy interface with the storage system and has adequate space to show vast amounts of information. It’s ideal to offer the user a direct interface with various ERP systems – straight to the storage system terminal – possible thanks to the integrated SOAP interface.
The fully integrated warehouse management system (WMS) has been optimized for improved display in terms of functionality and comfort. MP 14 N uses the latest browser technology to display useful information.
The MP 14 N control system does not need a classic alphanumeric keyboard – texts are entered using the virtual keyboard displayed directly on the touch screen. When used in conjunction with the optional feature Hänel PictureControl (camera integrated in the storage system), the large display area of the MP 14 N is a great advantage.
MP 12 N Controller
One control system – four operating modes. MP 12 N is a compact controller used in most Hänel automated storage: Rotomat, Lean-Lift, Lockomat and Multi-Space. Whether you use the Hänel storage systems as stand-alone solutions with integrated inventory management, or you want to integrate the control units into a higher-level ERP system – the leading MP 12 N controller has everything built in the standard version. This is the compact controller for Hänel storage systems with fully integrated storage management for item numbers, storage locations, stock quantities, minimum inventory, and additional data fields.
Software integration
For many years, Hänel’s MP 100 D, MP 12 N-HostData and MP 14 N HostData control systems have been supporting the exchange of data without the need for additional middleware. An FTP server, a Windows version unit, or a web interface is all that is required for data exchange between the Hänel controller and the customer’s ERP system.
Operation modes
Independent
The Stand-Alone mode includes the core functionality of an integrated WMS, including the management of items, locations, and stocks.
This functionality can be extended through additional modules and integration with an ERP system for order processing.
Host-Data
The Host-Data mode includes the core functionality for order processing and requires integration with ERP/WMS.
In this mode, ERP/WMS manages items, locations, and stocks, the Hänel controller being used to process the orders transferred through an electronic interface.
When multiple Hänel automated storage units are used, these can be connected to allow optimized processing of orders.
Host-Web
The Host-Web mode enables ERP/WMS to control the Hänel automated storage directly.
In this mode, ERP/WMS manages items, locations, and stocks, with the Hänel controller processing shelf/tray movements via an electronic interface.
When using this mode, the information can also be displayed on the controller via the integrated web browser and a custom-made web application.
